Ideal Classroom Reflection

Ideal Classroom Reflection
My ideal classroom would have all the desks in groups of four, with the desks facing each other. This way, when the students work in groups they don’t have to move from their seats to talk to their group members. I would also have one area of the classroom empty except for carpet to sit on. This space would be for group reading and other relation activities. I would have a little book shelf in the corner with lots of books for the students to check out books to read. Plus there would be different pictures on the wall covering some of the topics we are studying. These are a few ideas of what I would have my classroom look like.
I would try to use all the different teaching techniques that there are. But really, depending on my students learn best, I will do more of what will help them out the best.
The technologies that I would utilize would be the internet and computers. The internet would be used to do research and to check the class blog of upcoming events and homework. I like being able to have the students do different types of homework without making them always use paper and pencil. To use the internet, you would have to have a computer. I would also use power point for lessons and games to reinforce learning on a topic we are discussing. Those are some of the technologies I would use in my classroom.
Some of the goals I would like to have the class embrace are being nice to one another, have the homework turned in on time, and cleaning up after ourselves. I know that the best way to help a group of people accomplish certain goals is by having a reward at the end. I would give the students a list of options from an ice cream party, to not having homework for a few days if they accomplished the goals.
I hope to teach 3rd or 4th grade. Those are the grades I remember best from elementary school. Because of that, I would like to teach those grades to help children today to also enjoy those grades.
